The Good. Plenty of power on tap from the 1.4-liter turbo. EPA fuel rating of 39 mpg on the highway is excellent. SEL trim gains: a 1.8-liter, 170-hp TSI engine, power driver's seat, exterior
Stock turbo limits on the 1.5TFSi as fitted to the 35 TFSi is around 190hp with the turbo running at around 1.68bars. The key in choosing a turbo for the EA211 is to get one that flows well at fairly low rpms. The 1.4 engines will not flow as much as a 2.0 for example, making many larger turbos feel quite laggy.
Good evening (from Bloemfontein, South Africa) I'm in the market for a SUV, and fell in love with the new 1.4 TSI Bluemotion. Amazing power and driving experience for a fairly small engine. I don't buy a new car every 4 of 5 years, and whatever I buy now will need to last for 200 000+km. Until the arrival of the high-performance vRS – which is expected to feature a 220bhp 2.0-litre TSI – the largest petrol engine you can get in the latest Skoda Octavia is this 1.4-litre TSI. Actually they both have. 1.8 TSI has a name in consuming oil - some say that 1l per 1000 km is quite common thing. 1.4 TSI has a problems with a timing chain rattle, 1.4 TSI also do consume some oil. All TSI consumes. E.g. mine 1.4 TSI 90 kW needs ~2-3 l per 10k km. Just look for a car with as low mileage as you can and with a full service history. . 2 371 161 232 222 133 42 200
