There are a few things you can do to help fatten up your autoflower buds. First, make sure your plant is getting enough light. More light means more energy for the plant to use to produce buds. Second, make sure you’re feeding your plant the right nutrients at the right time. Finally, be patient! Providing the plant with too much light too early will result in damage, as it needs time to adjust to higher light intensities. To initiate the flowering period, the lighting duration is reduced significantly (typically from 18 hours down to 12 hours), which also results in a lower DLI. Light intensity is then gradually increased to get big buds. Does More Light Equal More Yield? Autoflowers need at least 18 hours of light to produce good yields. Some growers claim that using up to 24 hours of light increases yields. We suggest you experiment with different light schedules (between 18 and 24 hours per day) and see what works best. Light intensity matters, too. 600w light can get around 5 x 5 feet(150 x 150 cm) 1000w light can get around 6 x 6 feet(180 x 180 cm) Reflectors. HPS lamps like any other artificial light source produce light in all directions. All this light is not beneficial to your plants growing just beneath the bulb because they directly get only about 1/3 of the light emitted by the bulb!
To deliver the minimum required 20 moles of light per day, your grow light will need to emit 308 PPFD for 18 hours straight during the cannabis vegetative (veg) growth phase. To achieve better growth, you can increase the PPFD up to 600 PPFD during vegetative growth. This is assuming 18 hours of light per day.
